    as many times as it likes
    
    or poetry can wake us to the revolution
    poetry can make us consider the blood of children
    
    what’s the use a moment of pleasure

Jennie Neighbors has two books of poetry: Between the Twilight and the Sky (Parlor Press), an extended poem on liminality, and But They, Um (Spuyten Duyvil Press), a performance poem utilizing documents from the Abu Ghraib torture scandal to examine the language of atrocity.
